About Us – PennyPaws Rescue
Welcome to PennyPaws Rescue – a small but passionate dog rescue dedicated to saving and rehoming vulnerable dogs from Romania to the UK. Founded in 2020 by Gill Jennes, PennyPaws was born out of a deep love for animals and a determination to make a difference in the lives of those who have been abandoned, abused, or left to fend for themselves.
Our Mission
At PennyPaws, we believe that every dog deserves a second chance. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome as many dogs as possible, giving them the safety, care, and love they deserve. Many of the dogs we save come from heartbreaking conditions—neglect, malnutrition, or cruelty—but with patience and kindness, we help them on their journey to a better life.
What We Do
Our work spans across several key areas:
🐾 Rescue & Rehabilitation – We rescue dogs from Romania, providing them with veterinary care, emotional support, and training to help them adjust to life in a loving home.
🐾 Rehoming – Our dedicated team works tirelessly to match each dog with the perfect forever family, ensuring they find a safe and loving environment to call home.
🐾 Fostering – Fostering is a vital part of our rescue process. It allows dogs to experience home life before adoption, helping them build confidence and trust.
🐾 Sponsorship & PennyPaws LifeLong Dogs – Some of our rescues are too traumatised, elderly, or ill to be rehomed. These special dogs remain in our care for life, receiving love and support through our sponsorship programme.
🐾 Reactivity Rehabilitation Centre – Based in Manchester, our rehabilitation centre provides specialist training and care for dogs with behavioural challenges. Many of these dogs have never known kindness, and our goal is to help them rebuild trust and confidence so they can have a brighter future.
