The Little Book of Dog Promotions on Facebook

The Little Page of Dog Promotions is a Facebook group which helps promote a selection of homeless dogs. Often rescued from the notorious kill shelters in Romania, these dogs have never experienced anything in their lives other than fear, hunger and cruelty.

The Facebook page is run by Zoey Nettleingham and she has been very kind to post lots of profiles of Pennypaws dogs desperate for love and a home.

Check out the Facebook page here

It’s incredible how much difference sharing a Facebook post can make to the chance of a dog finding a home, so please check out this Facebook page and if you have a moment please share some of the posts. Thank you.

RIP Poor little Freddy

So sad to have to announce that poor little Freddy has passed away in Romania. He was rescued from an horrendous kill shelter out there, and was waiting for his chance to find a loving home here in the UK.
So sorry for poor Freddy never experiencing the real love and warmth of his own forever home and family.
We hope he finds peace over the rainbow bridge. x

RIP Freddy 2015 – 2024

The artist Linda Crowhust did a beautiful drawing of Freddy for Pennypaws. You can find out more about her work here:

A song for the Romanian kill shelter dogs who don’t make it – by Greg Crowhurst

Poor littlel dog – by Greg Crowhurst

Poor little dog
That no body knew
Poor little dog
That never ran free
Under the sky so blue
Playing a game

Poor little dog
That had no name
Poor little dog
That was locked in a cold concrete cage
All the precious days of
It’s short life

Poor little dog
That nobody Claimed
Poor little dog
That had no name
Poor little dog
That would have cuddled you and me

Poor little dog
That never even got
To see the sea
Poor little dog
Who knew so much pain

Poor little dog
Who had no name
Poor little dog
We grieve for you
Poor little dog
We cannot begin to imagine
What you went through

Poor little dog
It’s a crying shame
That nobody even
Gave you a name

Words and music by Greg Crowhurst 2024

Thank you so much to Greg for the heartfelt and beautiful song about the poor dogs who suffer so much, and to Linda Crowhurst for the moving drawing. Thank you both for all your support for Pennypaws Rescue.

Pennypaws Rescue & 2GETHER4STRAYS Sterilisation Campaign to neuter and spay Romanian stray dogs 2024/2025

Husband and Wife Team – Leonie and Neil Morris talk about the sterilisation campaign for Romanian stray dogs

Pennypaws Rescue and 2GETHER4STRAYS Sterilisation Campaign 2024/2025

https://www.gofundme.com/f/gospayme-spaying-and-neutering-campaign-romania

Many of you will have seen the heartbreaking images and videos of Gill and Megan’s trip to Romania in May, where yet more unwanted puppies were discovered.

According to the Wild at Heart Foundation, without intervention, 1 female dog and her litter of puppies could result in 67,000 more homeless dogs living on the streets in just 6 years! Sterilisation remains the single most effective and compassionate method of controlling the growing stray dog population.

We are working 💪 towards a joint sterilisation campaign with 2gether4strays in May 2025. We will be promoting our Gofund Appeal in the Autumn. But you can make a donation at ANY time. Using the link provided.

Please help us with this campaign to neuter and spay morestray dogs in Romania:

A new animation about how to treat your new rescue dog when they arrive

A little Pennypaws Rescue animation about a rescue dog arriving at their foever home for the very first time. [SOUND ON]

Drawings and concept by Linda Crowhurst.

It’s hard to imagine how confused and tired these poor souls must be when they arrive from Romania, but it will be worth it. All they really need is calmness, time and space to decompress and begin to understand their new surroundings and routines. Just like Alf in the video…

If you would like to help Pennypaws Rescue help more dogs in desperate need please check out our website:
