Welcome to PennyPaws Rescue
At PennyPaws Rescue, we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need. Founded in 2020 by Gill Jennes, our mission is to give abandoned and neglected dogs—primarily from Romania—a second chance at life in loving homes across the UK.
Many of the dogs we rescue have faced unimaginable hardships, but with patience, care, and support, we help them heal and find the happiness they deserve. Whether through adoption, fostering, sponsorship, or donations, there are many ways you can help change a dog’s life.

Build for Bear: A Home of His Own at Last!

The real lovely part of this is that he is making lots of doggie friends too which is so good for him.

- DOB approx 2019 30 kg Neutered Currently in Romania
- Saved from an horrendous Romanian kill shelter
- Belgian malinois mix who needs emergency foster or adoption with someone experienced in the breed.
- He doesn’t get any walks so he doesn’t see the daylight for over 6 months now.
- He was saved from a kill shelter where he was bullied by other dogs
- We would love to see him in a loving home
- He looks like he has given up to life, shut in the corner of his cage, sleeping on a concrete floor, no human interaction apart from being fed and having his cage cleaned, without seeing the daylight for months… heartbreaking to say at least
- Can someone please consider this terrified doggy? He needs a chance to overcome his fears and start trusting people again.
- During our visit to the private shelter, we tried to get close to him, to give him daily walks, but 4 days is not enough time to spend with him and he had to be carried outside and he just sits on the grass because he refused to walk.
- Please consider giving him a chance that she desperately needs

Chained up Mum Mary and her Four Pups rescued – funds urgently needed to keep them safe.
This poor Mum called Mary has lived on her chain in Romania all her life. Sadly a common occurrence in this country.
She gave birth to her puppies still chained up… The owners wanted to throw the puppies in the river. Luckily a lovely woman helped them, and Pennypaws Rescue has had them transported to a safe shelter where they can be looked after and assessed.
But only if we can raise the £1000 needed to pay for three months in the shelter. Can you help us please – anything makes such a difference.
Pennypaws Rescue is run solely by hard working dedicated volunteers, so you can rest assured that every penny donated goes directly to the dogs. Thank you

10 Dogs Rescued in One Week!
Gill Jenness and her team rescued 10 dogs in one week including a Mum and her 4 pups who were due to be sent to the Kill Shelter. We couldn’t let that happen. They are safe now but we have to find a way to pay the safe shelter. Can you help us please?

Pennypaws Rescue has many beautiful dogs ready for their forever homes, all saved from abuse, starvation and death in Romania. In Romania our dogs are assessed within safe shelters before being transported to the UK, where we find foster homes for them and then adoption.

A lovely inspiring note from one of our adopters…
I have one of your beautiful dogs. She is approx 3 years old and is the most loving dog I’ve had in over 50 years of dog ownership. I’ve always had a rescue dog but most were the result of broken relationships or the death of an elderly owner. Your dogs are special as you’ve actually saved their lives. The Fab Four Puppies Abandoned in Romania
Bobby Benny Benji & Buzz were abandoned on the street in Romania. They have been picked up and are in safe shelter – we now just need to try and find them a home in the UK – can you help please?
