Kobie (currently being assessed)

  • Meet Kobie – A Loving, Loyal Boy Looking for His Forever Home!
  • In UK foster home (Greater Manchester area) available for adoption. Currently being assessed.
  • Kobie is a handsome, intelligent, and affectionate 4-year-old who is ready for a fresh start. After being rescued from a Romanian kill shelter as a puppy, he has spent his life being loved and cared for, but due to unfortunate personal circumstances, he now needs a new home where he can thrive.
  • This larger mixed-breed boy (85cm to the top of his head, 27kg) is full of love, energy, and potential—he just needs the right person to help him feel safe and secure.
  • Kobie is looking for a committed, experienced owner who understands nervous dogs and can provide the structure, reassurance, and training he needs to feel confident.
  • Dog-friendly – He loves other dogs, especially small ones, and would do well in a home with a confident dog to help guide him.
  • Best with adults or older children (14+ years) – He thrives in a calm environment where he can build trust at his own pace.
  • Not tested with cats – but he has a gentle nature with smaller dogs, so he may be able to adjust.
  • Loyal and affectionate – Once he trusts you, he is the most loving, cuddly companion.
  • Kobie is a fun-loving and active dog who enjoys long walks and relaxing on the sofa with his people. He is clever and trainable, but his nervousness can make certain situations difficult. He will need ongoing support, patience, and confidence-building to help him settle into his forever home.
  • He can be reactive to new people – He barks at strangers, especially at the window or when they enter the home, but once introduced properly, he is gentle and loving.
  • Lead pulling & fear-based behaviors – He pulls on walks, especially when he sees white vans or experiences loud noises like fireworks.
  • Separation anxiety – He is deeply bonded to his person and becomes unsettled when left, but he has been left for up to 6 hours and does eventually settle.
  • Protective tendencies – If someone hugs his person, he will try to get between them for reassurance.
  • Kobie is currently in Greater Manchester and is ready to find his forever family.
  • Full Rescue Backup Provided. A homecheck is required.
  • Contact Gill Jenness for further details: Mobile: 07795 803434

Build for Bear: A Home of His Own at Last!

FOR THE LATEST ON BUILD FOR BEAR – PLEASE SEE THIS POST. THANK YOU

Build for Bear drawing by the artist LC

Bear has been waiting for his chance at happiness for far too long. Rescued from a Romanian kill shelter by PennyPaws Rescue, this brave boy was brought to the UK in the hope of finding a forever home. But after four years in kennels, Bear is still waiting. Life hasn’t been easy for him, and his past experiences have left him wary of the world. With his ongoing medical condition, spondylosis, and a need for a calm and structured environment, finding the right home has been a challenge.

We’ve decided Bear shouldn’t have to wait any longer. Instead of holding out for a home that may never come, we’re building one just for him! Bear will soon have his very own dedicated kennel space at the Reactivity & Rehabilitation Centre, a safe haven designed specifically to meet his needs.

Here, Bear will have the chance to thrive in a supportive, quiet environment alongside other animals who will act as therapy for him. His “Bachelor Pad” will give him the space and security he needs, helping him build confidence while enjoying a peaceful, permanent place to call his own. This will be his sanctuary – a place where he can finally feel at ease.

To make this dream a reality, we need your help. The cost of building Bear’s new home is £1,000, and every penny counts. This special space will allow us to reallocate the £400 we currently spend monthly on his kennel and medical costs, meaning we can help even more animals in need.

Please, help us Build for Bear by donating to our JustGiving page. Whether it’s £1 or £100, your support will give Bear the happy ending he’s waited for his entire life. Share this far and wide – together, we can make Bear’s dream a reality and show him the love he so deeply deserves.

Let’s Build for Bear and give this incredible boy the home he’s been waiting for! Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

This is such an amazing opportunity for Bear – if you can, please help us make it happen for him by donating or sharing.

See all the dogs rescued by Pennypaws since Gill and her team visited the shelters in Romania in September 2024

In September 2024 – a team of volunteers led by Pennypaws founder Gill Jenness went out to Romania to visit the shelters where some of the dogs rescued from the Romanian kill shelters stay – waiting – hoping they are found a home.

These are some of the lucky ones who have made it on to the Happy Bus and on to loving homes in the UK.

Please help us rescue more of them and end the suffering.Thank you x
